Drilling and CNC tools
When machining hard and abrasive materials, it is recommended to use durable tools and machine at relatively low cutting speeds.
For machining softer materials, high cutting speeds and sharper tools are preferable.
Choice of cutting data – milling tools:
| Material | Recommended cutting speed (m/sec.) | |
| HW tools | DP tools | |
| Softwood | 60-90 | - |
| Hardwood | 50-80 | 65-90 |
| Chipboard | 60-80 | 70-90 |
| Blockboard | 60-80 | - |
| Hard fibreboard | 40-60 | 40-60 |
| Plastic-laminated board | 40-60 | 55-80 |
| MDF | 50-70 | 60-80 |
| Aluminium | 30-50 | 30-50 |
| Thermoplastic | 30-60 | 30-60 |
| Duroplastic | 15-50 | 30-50 |
For machining pinewood, 70-80 m/sec. is recommended, possibly slightly less for HSS tools, since they are sharper.

With correct cutting data and optimum tool choice, you achieve:
- Higher productivity
- Reduced price per drilling operation
- Less scrapping
- Less time required for post-processing
- Higher profits
